It's very true, this is not an opinion. You'll even find this in politics. The mindset of the founding fathers of America was to set the constitution with an ideology that everyone shares and uses, and that was reason. What they didn't know was that the people of today will refuse to reason with one another because nobody want's to sacrifice for the better good, and are more focused on emotionally appealing to society and themselves. I'm sure some of you who are not corrupted by that mindset can see exactly what I'm talking about.
