I'll keep this simple so everyone can understand:
Some of you guys are getting greedy with all your hijacks on the words "reason" and "intelligence", using them against others of different beliefs. Seriously, could you be any more prideful? Guess what. If calling yourself an atheist/Christian/agnostic makes you a self-proclaimed genius in your world, that's pretty much it for you. Doesn't really have anything to do with reality. In reality, your proclaiming to be the smartest of the bunch is what we humans call being a smart-ass.
Intelligence, reason, and truth are NOT measured by such things. Study, interest, exploration, curiosity, a thirst to know what you don't know, and an open mind for things you can't know, is what true intelligence is. Intelligence is for EVERYONE, regardless of their beliefs (or "lack of").
I'm sure all of you can guess who tries to proclaim themselves the "smartest" of them all.
As for my own belief, that belief being Christianity, I would like to say 3 things.
- God never told us that we could not use our brains. He told us to be driven by our faith to find out more about Him and the world around us.
- Science is encouraged by religious folk. We even have Christian scientists who are just as smart as secular scientists.
- Jesus told us to be humble in our beliefs while spreading the knowledge and study of God.
So Christians, PLEASE follow through with the last part I said about Jesus telling us to stay humble.
That's all I gotta say.
